A mix between a tenon joint and a statement.

a word is both the through-tenon and the mortise for a joint.

Progress

  • word graphic designed such that the inner and outer radius should be big enough for router bit
  • Font for inside and outside CNCing in inkscape
  • export as .eps (for consistency)
  • imported to Partworks 3.0
  • cut on shopbot

Problems

fit is too tight

  • last T stem width is tenon: 2.9mm; mortise: 2.75mm; diff: 0.15mm
  • root of y with is tenon: 3.7mm; mortise: 3.4mm; diff: 0.3mm
  • height of first i is tenon: 14.8mm; mortise: 14.9mm; diff: 0.1mm
  • height of t is tenon: 14.75mm; mortise: 14.6mm; diff: 0.15mm
  • 'avg diff: 0.175mm
  • is the bit 1.4125 instead of the 1.5875mm it should be?
  • test cut single line with 1/16 bit and measure what it really isTemplate:TD Possum Lodge
  • re-test cut the lettering with bit size set to 1.4125mm

To do

  • figure out
  • buy new 1/16 bit ; I did, where did I put it?
