* mount actual pedals to a set-up, allowing anyone to use same as on bike
** problem is accommodating the sideways torque
* standard thread for pedals is 9/16 20TPI, left and right; Park Tools sells taps

* mount an axle to skewer actual pedals
** chances are tehre is no standard size for the axle - disassemble the pedals I have and check.

I have had this in my rowing shell since at least 2017 and it works well

  • cut ends of pedal arms and TIG weld them onto an assembly that fits the foot stretcher
  • use standard SPD pedals
