Masked Sandblasting
Masked Sandblasting is when parts of the object being sandblasted are shielded from the abrasive. There is purpose-made sandblasting shield, but even plain Vinyl Cut adhesive vinyl will work for a light blasting.
Masked sandblasting doesn't have as fine of a resolution as Laser Cutting or engraving, but doesn't have some of the line artifacts that a laser engraving has. Also, masked sandblasting can have an interesting effect as it reveals different properties of the blasted material, such as the grain in Sand-blasted wood.
Some projects that use this are Sand-blasted salt jar and Sand-blasted wood.
